Before the Music Dies

Andrew Shapter and Joel Rasmussen were two guys on a mission: to find out why the music they loved didn't have a home on the radio dial. They criss-crossed the country, quizzing hundreds of musicians, journalists, industry experts and music fans to find out why so many talented musicians just couldn't seem to get a break.

The result was their documentary BEFORE THE MUSIC DIES, which premiered at South by Southwest last spring. I caught up with them the next morning to ask them why their views on the music industry seem to resonate so strongly.
